Oversized Trash Pick-up
We encourage you to recycle your bulky items through charitable organizations and thrift stores. However, if you are unable to do so, the Bureau of Sanitation (BOS) will pick-up your large or bulky household items, such as mattresses, couches, and other furnitures from all residents serviced by the City of Los Angeles free of charge. To make arrangements to have these items removed from your curbside, please call us at 1-800-773-2489, from Monday through Friday, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m., at least one day before your regular collection day. Bulky items are collected on the day of your regular trash collection day. Please have an itemized list ready when calling in your request. You could also send us your request for bulky items by clicking on the Service Web Site indicated below. Fill out and submit the Service Request form. The Service Request form takes two days to be processed. BOS does not collect automotive parts, construction materials, commercial materials, and cardboards. Cardboards are only collected as a Move In/Move Out service not as a bulky item pickup. Please return to the main menu and read the Move In/Move Out service description.

Westside Neighborhood Council (WNC)
website:
www.wncla.org
In 1999 a revised Los Angeles City Charter directed the formation of Neighborhood Councils throughout the City. The goal was to give citizens greater access to City Hall and a more effective voice in City affairs.
To carry out the Charter’s mandate, the City planned to set up 103 Neighborhood Councils, each representing from 30,000 to 70,000 stakeholders. A stakeholder, briefly defined, is anyone who, within the boundaries of a neighborhood:
- Lives
- Works
- Attends school
- Worships, or
- Participates in the work of a non-profit institution.
Neighborhood Councils operate with a board of elected and appointed members drawn from each category of stakeholders.
